Submersible pumps
Grundfos’ range of submersible pumps (SP) is recognized worldwide for its reliable performance, high energy efficiency and long product life. Invented in 1967, the SP pump was the first ever stainless steel submersible pump – and to this day it remains the benchmark in the market.
SP pumps cover a wide range of applications where efficient water pumping is required, including; Water supply, Irrigation, Mining, Fountains, Reverse osmosis, Dewatering, Ground water lowering and many more.
The NEW upgraded and extended range of high-capacity 4” submersible pumps which have improved octagonal discharge, cable guard attachment, wear resistance and optimized hydraulics offer increased performance and efficiency.
Reliable Operation
The SP pumps are made from 100% high-grade stainless steel to ensure efficient corrosion resistance and long product life in even the most demanding enviroments. The range is avalaible in three grades of stainless steel:
EN 1.4301/AISI 304 for drinking water
EN 1.4401/AISI 316 for slightly aggressive water
EN 1.4539/AISI 904L for higher salinity water, e.g seawater
Special Motor
The Grundfos MS and MMS motors are specially designed for the SP pump to ensure a perfect match in submersible applications. The 100% stainless steel motors are available in three grades pf stainless steel to ensure long product life:
EN 1.4301/AISI 304 for drinking water (MS + MMS)
EN 1.4401/AISI 316 for slightly aggressive water (MMS)
EN 1.4539/AISI 904L for higher salinity water, e.g seawater (MS + MMS)
Offering best in class energy efficiency the motors reduce operating cost to provide attractive return on investment (ROI). A hydro dynamic bearing design adds to the long product life as it reduces wear.
The SP System
Grundfos is able to equip any application with a complete SP system to optimise performance and energy efficiency. An SP system combines:
• A high-grade stainless steel SP pump
• A dedicated MS/MMS motor
• A frequency drive (CUE) or an electronic motor protection (MP204)
• Monitoring (Grundfos GO)
One of the most prominent benefits of applying an SP system is the significant savings potential. By eliminating all excessive energy usage a Grundfos designed system may provide savings of up to 50%.
In addition to correctly sized SP pumps and motors energy efficient operation is achieved and improved by:
• Using frequency drives – these translate into increased energy efficiency and consequently reduced energy consumption and lower bills
• Adding monitoring to the pump/motor/frequency drive ensures that you are always aware of what is going on in the system and can adjust operation accordingly – without manual inspection of the pumps.
